Badia del Convento Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC: The Elegance of Abruzzo Red Wine
Discover the Badia del Convento Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC, a still red wine that embodies the authenticity and refinement of the vineyards of Teramo, Abruzzo. Made with 100% Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grapes, this wine has an intense ruby red color enriched with garnet reflections, promising a unique sensory experience.
On the nose, Badia del Convento opens with intense and persistent spicy aromas, with hints of chocolate and tobacco that blend harmoniously with the fruity notes. On the palate, it is structured and well-balanced, with well-present tannins that enhance its complexity. Perfect to accompany rich first courses and red meats, it also pairs beautifully with appetizers based on cold cuts and mature cheeses.
The vinification of this wine involves pressing and destemming of the grapes, followed by fermentation of the skins together with the must for approximately 15 days at a controlled temperature of 23-25°C. The wine initially matures in steel tanks for 12-16 months, and then further refines in oak barrels for another 12-16 months. It completes its refinement in the bottle for 6-8 months before being put on the market.
The Abruzzo pergola vineyard, with a yield of 80-100 quintals per hectare and a density of 1,100 plants per hectare, is located on south-facing hills at an altitude of 150-200 meters above sea level. The manual harvest of the grapes takes place in mid-October, ensuring the highest quality of the product.
With an alcohol content of 14% vol and a recommended serving temperature of 15-18°C, Badia del Convento is a wine destined to provide emotions for many years, if well preserved.
